Process for Bringing in a New Shriner:

 

• Candidate must be a Master Mason and in good standing with his Masonic Lodge

• Candidate completes the Petition for Initiation and Membership in proper and legible form.

• Petition is submitted to the office WITH Initiation fee/dues payment.  As of 2026, this fee is $350 and subject to change.  This MUST be paid when the petition is submitted. Nothing will happen with the petition until full payment is received by the office.

• Petition is given to the Recorder who will present it at the next stated meeting.  The candidate will be voted on by Nobility and if approved will be ready to participate in the next ceremonial class.

• Finally, the Candidate must participate in a ceremony where he obligates to the values and beliefs of a Shrine Mason, normally done in either the Spring or Fall Ceremonial. (The exception is if a special Short Form ceremony is allowed by the Potentate to accommodate special circumstances for Candidates at alternative dates.)

• At the conclusion of this ceremony the candidate is a Noble and his name and personal information will be entered into WebFez to be recognized by Shriners International as a member of Midian Shriners.

 

NOTE:

If a member comes in through the Fall class (November), the dues portion of the initiation fee will be applied to the next calendar year.  If becoming a member prior to November 1, entire dues amount will be applied to the current year and dues will still be required for the next calendar year.
